Introduction


The www.rabbitears.info website is the most popular tool used by over-the-air TV professionals and do-it-yourself cord cutters. It is used by engineers, novice cord cutters, and online discussion groups. The Rabbitears.info website is located at www.rabbitears.info. The tool shows the location, of each TV broadcast tower, in relation to the location entered by the user. It also shows the signal strengths, of each of the TV stations, along with a wealth of other useful information. The Rabbiears.info is the primary tool used in the selection of the proper TV antenna for any specific location. This page is a step-by-step guide on how to use the Rabbiears.info tool.
1. Go to the Signal Search Map
a.) Go to the homepage located at www.rabbitears.info. S b.) Select the "Signal Search Map".
2. Place the Pushpin on Top of Your Location
a.) Type in only your zipcode or type in your address. Then, click "search" button. b.) The map should show your general location. If it doesn't, use the mouse to drag the map around until you see your location. Use the zoom in and zoom out if necessary to help in finding your location. c.) Click the "Move Pushpin to Center of Map View" button. A push pin should appear in the center of the map. d.) Move the pushpin and place it on top of your exact location. e.) Click the "Go" button.
3. The Final Rabbitears Report For Your Location
The final report will look like the forth photo, from the top, shown on the right. It will have a bullseye on it. The center of the bullseye is the location you entered. Notice the table at the bottom. The table shows each broadcast tower, its distance from your location, and the signal strengths.
IMPORTANT FACT!. Under the channel column, you will see each channel contains a number in parentheses (xx). This is referred as the RF channel number. The RF channel is the actual channel in which the station broadcasts on. The number that is NOT in parentheses is the channel number that the station is known as. For example, refrring to the forth photo on the right. The display channel for ABC (WXYZ) is 7-1 or just 7. The ABC network (WXYZ) broadcasts on RF channel number 25. Knowing the RF channel numbers, for each of the stations in your area, is essential when selecting a TV antenna.
